Our Admission Process
Thank you for your interest in registering your child to our program! We would love to have a slot for every family we interview. However, we run a very small and personalized operation with only a few slots available per year. Follow the steps delineated below to be considered:
-
Write a letter introducing yourselves, explaining what your ideal program would look like, what your family’s needs are and why you think we might be a great fit for your family. Make sure to include parents' or guardians’ full names, contact phone numbers, your child’s date of birth and your ideal start date. The subject of your email should be your family's name and your ideal start date. Email your letter directly to Virginia at waitlist@virginiashomedaycare.com.
-
Once we receive your letter, we will contact you to set up a virtual tour to get to know you better, for you to get a chance to ask any questions you might have and check out our beautiful facility.
-
If you are interested in moving forward and there is a spot available, you will be invited for an onsite tour of our facility. Additionally, you will be provided with references from former and current families in the program and we will send you our contract for your review before making your decision.
-
You will have 72 hours since you were offered the spot to register your child by completing and signing the contract, turning in all the paperwork we need to file for the State of California and paying for the registration fee.
-
If there is no spot available at the moment you will be placed on a waitlist. We ask families enrolled to give us eight weeks’ notice before exiting the program and we will reach out to families on the waitlist as soon as we know there is a slot opening up.
-
Our first attempt to contact you when a spot is available for your child/children will be via email so please make sure you share an email address you check regularly. We will make a second attempt to your cell phone and wait for your response for 48 hours before we move on to the next family.
How can I move up on the waitlist?
-
Sign up to the waitlist as soon as possible.
-
Children 15 months and older move more quickly up the waitlist because infants’ spots are more limited per state regulations.
-
Native Spanish speakers have priority. This is a full Spanish immersion program and children learn from their peers.
-
If you already have a child in the program we will do our best to offer a spot for a sibling regardless of age and language spoken at home.
